10 Ways to Enjoy the MeadowSide Neighbourhood this Summer

Now that Manchester International Festival is over, we’ve tracked down the best things to do this Summer, in our neck of the woods.

It’s no secret that Ancoats is one of the most exciting spots in Manchester, the term up and coming may have been thrown around a few times, it was even named the 13th coolest neighbourhood in the world by Time Out last year, and we are lucky enough to have it right on our doorstep.

With so many quirky independent retailers, eateries, galleries and venues it can be hard to work out where to start, but fret not, we’ve compiled this list to get you well on your way to being in the know.

Namaslay the day

Fill your lungs with fresh air and loosen your limbs at Yoga in the Meadow, a free 45-minute yoga session that takes place on the third Friday of each month in the natural beauty of Manchester’s largest green space, Angel Meadow park.

The next session is on 16th August at 8am, to reserve your free mat just RSVP HERE, all abilities welcome!

Eat a super food breakfast

Despite being a relative newcomer to the neighbourhood, The Counter House has become a staple for good food and good vibes, with its reputation spreading rapidly across the city. Their Acai bowls not only look incredible (upping your Insta-game) but happen to be super healthy too – acai berries are rich in antioxidants, fibre and protein.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner, for more information, visit their WEBSITE.

Get your Matcha on…

Everything about Cha-ology is designed to bring Japanese tea drinking culture to Manchester, from its minimalistic décor to the sweet aroma, this tea house concept is truly one of a kind. From their exquisite tea collection to tasty matcha treats, you will leave Cha-ology feeling purified and refreshed!

Cha-ology works on a reservation only basis, and caters to a maximum of two people per table, but if it’s a group experience you’re looking for, they also host tasting workshops, that serve as an introduction to Japanese tea. Visit their website to find out more HERE.
